Polish night in an english club? No way.......

am happy to point you in the right direction..

Sounds good Bubba - go for it !
When I was in Sopot last year I went to a few bars along the Monte Cassino - quite good for meeting people but most of them were tourists out people watching. Went to some clubs down by the beachfront which were ok but a bit overpriced by local standards( had to move from brandy to Wodka - clubs same world over suppose ! ).

I'd be looking for a few laid back bars where you can sit and get the crac with the locals and the Polish on their hols.

P.S.Anyone noticed how a lot of the bars in the old town are in basements - easily missed.

if you are talking bout gdansk this is becasue of noise restrictions... which is why most of the partying happens in sopot...

couple of my regular haunts are papryka - a house down at the bottom of MC and turn left onto grunwaldska... live jam sessions on a wednesday night not to be missed - and mandarynka which is in the road opposite the cinema on MC... if you can talk your way into spatiff you will meet loads of locals but it has an entrance policy so it will help if you meet someone who will take you in...

Spatiff sounds interesting, what sort of an entrance policy ?

they are like that in krakow also

Yep - and you can't tell if they are any good or not until you venture in. Went to a few in Krakow that were deserted but I had a drink anyway so as not to offend by turning round and leaving.

if they dont recognise you, you dont get in... its up some stairs and you have to ring the door bell...

I am in Gdansk 22-27th July before heading to Torun on the pkp service :)
Still looking some are nice but have "stupid" price tags ... seen "gryf" and " orbis posejdon" at minute.

going Malbork for a morning or afternoon thing ... as i am going with little one also heading to the Oceanographic Museum and the Pier and maybe the beach a while ha ha

But i am open to suggestion for places to visit (mmm new thread i think i will start for this)

again... im tempted to say base yourself in sopot, T - itll be much more fun, especially for little one as there is so much going on in the summer and youll be next to the beach etc...

if you feel like doing something cultural then head down to gdansk - its only 25 mins on the train - but if you want to just chill out with little one and take in the vibes then the vibes are more fun in sopot...

... and i still suggest getting an apartment... :)

i go for cheap and basic as i tend to use just as a crash pad - internet access is the highest on my list of priorities...

sopot.net has some good places advertised on it - quite a selection of different options

Exactly. I completely agree with you Ania.

Is this nice to use woman from poorer countries and behave like the English do in Poland? What does it say about those guys? But what a surprise it is not a first time in a history.
