I'm accustomed going through Heathrow but our airline no longer does this and I have to go through Gatwick.I know the connections ex Gatwick are nowhere as good as Heathrow and I will probably have to over night in Gatwick on my way to Poland.

North and South, so make sure you are in the correct one.. they are interconnected by a small shuttle train but its only a few mins between the 2. Its a pretty big airport and some of the departure gates are a 20 min walk.
