Atrop 2 | 19 16 Sep 2007 / #1I have been lucky to have friends in Warsaw that has shown me what taxis are safe to get in and such. But what would happen if one got into one of those mafia taxis (the brand new Mercedeses) one sees outside of Etiuda terminal? Would you get robbed, screwed out of money or what?
hello 22 | 890 16 Sep 2007 / #2It's not very likely you would get robbed, but I would say you'd have to pay much more if you chose a "regular" car. Or the driver would drive you around Warsaw so that you pay more for the longer distance. Another possibility, the driver could drive you to a hotel he's "cooperating" with (if you don't specify which hotel you want).

Osiedle_Ruda 16 Sep 2007 / #4Just stick to the proper Warsaw cabs which state their price on the window (1,80-2,20 PLN/km usually) and avoid anyone who touts for business in arrivals.Though why anyone would pay 20-30 PLN for a cab into town when the bus only costs a maximum of 2,40 PLN is beyond me... ;)
porta 18 | 297 16 Sep 2007 / #5Well ,it's not that i would take any of these cabs ,i have friends with cars :)But i was just wondering what would happen if one took one.7,50 PLN for 24H of public transport is good enough for me :)
