I am visiting Poland in the Summer and am looking to buy a guidebook. I found two names of books online, a Lonely Planet guidebook and also a Rough Guide book. Does anyone have any experience with these books or are there any better alternatives that anyone knows of?

And welcome to the Polish Forum.
It really depends on the type of traveller you are to be honest.
I have met many many people on my travels who use these books as figurative travel bibles.
They get great satisfaction from them, as they give competent background history of the country and sights.
They are both easy to use.
And pack a whole load of information and a breakdown of what to do, where to do it and when.
Great for when you arrive in a town at night and have nowhere to stay, you can just find a place closest to you, provided your edition is up-to-date.
It also gives different budget accommodation and sights to see as well as handy tips on how to get around places and what to expect.
Personally I find it very boring and have used it only once and it will be the last time but I think I am in the minority on this one.
