jac1966 - | 3 18 Dec 2007 / #7Merged: English Grammar School in the TriCity areaWe are an American family moving soon to Poland for my 2-3 year work assignment. We are looking for a grammar school in the TriCity area (Gdansk, Sopot or Gdynia would all work) for our 2 kids (5 and 8 years old - grades 0 and 3rd) where kids learn in English (American English preferred). Any advice?
cjj - | 281 19 Dec 2007 / #8I guess you're looking for this place ...?...americanschool.pl/historia_us.htmI can't give you much info about the quality of the teaching - we live in the TriCity area but our kids go to local schools. When are you arriving?/cjj
jac1966 - | 3 19 Dec 2007 / #9Yes, I have heard about this one, but looks like all teachers other than one are Polish and I am worried about their ability to communicate in English. I actually spoke to the admission's office and I was not thrilled with their English... I am wondering if anyone has any experience with them (or another school with English). I will probably be arriving in 2 to 3 months... Thanks...
Mufasa 19 | 357 19 Dec 2007 / #10I know there is also a Brittish school. Friends of ours, however, have decided to have mom and kids rather in Warsaw - where both British and American schools are good as far as I know - while dad travels to and fro from Gdańsk. Don't hink that's ideal though. If it were me, I'd try to find school there first.
cjj - | 281 19 Dec 2007 / #11bis-gdansk.plgosh :Dp.s.Szkoła Podstawowa Nr 69im. Gen. Stanisława Sosabowskiegoseems to share the same addressp.p.sif you go to google maps and type in "Gdansk Zielony Trójkąt" you should get an idea of where it is. the short story could be "down behind the Opera House". longer study of the area would suggest it's a bit run-down (fwiw). If anyone suggested I would have to get there from Gdynia of a morning I'd say "no" :D [think Trojmiasto, think gridlock]/cj (finding this more fun than what she's meant to be doing ...)
jac1966 - | 3 20 Dec 2007 / #12Great, thanks. It seems like this one is very new, still looking for teachers.... I think we need to go for something more established... Anyone who knows American Grammar and Middle School in Gdynia? Or another school with classes in English?Appreciate all help...
