Foreigners: Please don't buy Polish Land!

No, I think it's nice that they relocate things rather than just delete them. Not many boards do you this courtesy. Seanus and myself picked right back up once I realized where they had gone.

Oops. Ok, back on topic!... How about them dirty foreigners coming in and buying up all of Poland?!

Somebody made a good point about a hypothetical. Namely, a sea of Arabs flocking across and snapping up the prime cuts of land. Why deny industrious Poles the fruits of their labour? Yes, I see that many Poles are striving towards the nouveau-riche status but many fall short.

Foreigners benefit from systems which allow them to make quick bucks and scoop up land here.

That was my hypothetical.
Right. That’s what I don’t get… If you guys are going to be Socialist, go full-blown and include some protectionist nationalism to prevent these things from occurring. It seems to me this hybrid mix soup of pseudo-capitalism and socialism leaves the native Poles with the short end of the stick.

This is an overriding theme in humanity, Randal. It's socialism when it suits us and capitalism as and when we can :(

Much must be left to decency which, regrettably, in in short supply these days :(

Buy the Polish land but use your discretion.

For all the intrusive controlling managing, macro and micro, that the powers insist on engaging in, they really end up letting their own people down sometimes.

This all can be reflected in the US too, as we’re slipping to the socialist side more and more while clinging to our Cap ways. It’s the mix that is the problem: Pure, unadulterated Capitalism is fine as is pure Socialism (if there is such a thing. Lol…). It’s when they get hybrid that problems occur and gaps can be exploited.

It was Libs polluting our capitalism with their misguided social-engineering socialism that started the mortgage meltdown which then took the banks with it and from there the rest of the world. And then the voters sent the Libs to fix the mess they created! It’s like sending the arsonists to dump more gas on the fire they started!

I actually think the point about needing to be a national of a country to buy property was a good one. I think Japan is like that (could be wrong, but thought that was the case).

It makes perfect sense to keep prices affordable within a country.

(sigh) I wouldn’t go that far. But seriously, how would you feel if some foreigners with no ties to Poland and Her people and no regard for Polish culture came in with sacks of money and, say, bought up entire Polish villages, completely displacing the residents along with their cultural history?

Like Scottish islands, whole stretches of Ireland and now, potentially, a whole village in England.

What bugs me is that I moved to Poland, set up a one-man firm in Poland (I pay taxes in Poland) and borrowed a few thousand from my parents in UK. Polish government had no qualms about accepting the money into the country but I still had to buy the house and land in my wife's name (she's Polish).

This thread should be changed to:

To be honest, I am with Ola on this subject-Buy a property or a bit of land in Poland but only if you want to live there, work there, and make a contribution as a citizen.

unlike the idiots in England who want to be "property developers" buy up as many flats etc to "expand" their inflated portfolio and screw the first time buyers and the economy into the ground the only thought they have is of a champagne lifestyle and ride around as IF they are somebody important.....I know, been a construction Site Manager for too long....Don't let it happen in Poland....They will SCREW you and the economy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The proliferation of reality TV shows like Flip This House has created a cottage industry of house flippers here that harms first time home buyers, depleting affordable fixer uppers from the housing pool. Even so, it’s one thing for a domestic investor to undertake such projects but when foreigners are permitted to buy and sell, this turns the issue into something altogether different. Profit and greed may not be their motive as something more sinister could be what folks with no connection to the local culture have in mind.

FFS

Every Tomek, Bartek and Janek is a would-be property developer in Poland. They do shit jobs coz they dont have any real idea what they are doing and then try to sell their freshly fukt up apartment for hugely over-inflated prices to people who then need to strip the lot and start again. This is what has done damage

the man has a point about money and power. I hate money. it is the greatest of all evils. We experience the same in america with people from just other states within coming to the mountains in colorado and driving prices up to 500,000 just for a home site not even an acre. in colorado you dont make that kind of money. our industry is tourism so how do we afford to live. The same problems are the world over. I do agree with the statement go home brits. My wife is Polish and We lived in England and Ireland both and they treat the polish like pigs in both countries. the Irish are the worst. And the ones here screaming poor me ----blame it on your countrymen. might not be you the individual but the vast majority of your kind did this to your public opinion abroad. quit whining and live buy your land and tomorrow will still come it just doesnt mean you are more than welcome. Heck,I'm American and I have to deal with world opinion every day because of that idiot Bush. DEAL WITH IT OR LEAVE

the polish have a bad taste in their mouth because of the way they were treated in your country. my wife is polish i am american and i saw the other side of it every day from 90pc of the irish i dealt with about polish this and that. your countrymen have to be the most prejudiced i have evr met, as well as twoo faced. i heard everything you wouldnt say to their face. i do mean a constant stream of disrespect. Ireland would have never built during the celtic tiger if the polish hadn't come to show you haow to really work

My god, what's going on here? Is there not enough hatred going on in the world?
Do we have to resort to insulting our neighbours?

My own observations..... In my previous job as a production manager I had to recruit 25 workers for my facility. I employed 25 Polish people, this was due to the fact that the bone-idle English worker refused to get his arse out of his bed for less than £6 p/hr, (I know, piss poor money, but that’s all the owner would pay), however & let me tell you something, in the 30+ years I have been working I have never known anyone work harder than the polish workers I employed. Without question they would commit to as many hours as possible & put to shame the British guys that worked for us. This country. England is full of people who just don't want to work but of course still want money.

I had English guys tell me that they would not do overtime on a Saturday morning, why? Because the government would give them tax credits to stay at home..... Work that one out!

The poles did not/have not taken jobs off the English worker; they took the jobs the English refused to do. What did they do with the money they made? Whatever they bloody wanted. Most Poles I know sent half the money back home to assist family.

Now, 5 years on, most of the poles that we employed own their homes, have cars that are paid for & go on at least 2 holidays a year. As for the lazy English well, the ones that I kept are still lazy, get pissed every weekend, fail to show up for work & always complain that they have no money!!

I actually married one of the women that came over; we have been to Poland many times over the past 4 years. It is an amazing country. OK so it may still be a bit behind the times compared to the west of Europe in some things, but who cares. If you don't like it...leave.

I, my wife & daughter will be moving to Poland for good in the summer, she has a job lined up to start & I hope to find a TEFL post when we get over. We know we are not going to become a millionaire, that’s not why we are going. We are going to be closer to her family, (which is quite large compared to mine); will we be buying a property? Who knows, maybe not in the 1st year but will hope to eventually. Does this make me a bad person? We will be paying taxes like most people, we will be buying Polish goods & our daughter will be taught at a Polish school. Will I get the steely look of hatred from people on the bus every time I open my mouth? Will they tell me to p*ss off back to England? I hope not, it hasn't happened in all the times I've been over. On each visit I have been treated with nothing more than respect even when out on my own. In fact it has not happened to me anywhere I've been in Europe & I've lived & worked in a few countries in my time.

To the 'westerners' who have written with hatred & disgust, think carefully about what your saying, To the Poles who have told us not to come over, think carefully about what your saying. My quiet & sheltered life (!!) has lead me to believe that we can all get along, we have to all get along, this is a small planet that's on the brink of boiling over, at some time in the future........ We Europeans may all have to be brothers in arms!

There will be some out there who will read this & think I am a complete idiot, I don't care.
I just had to get my say in after reading some of the posts on this site.

Live long.

Well thank you very much valeo for the lesson.

Most of what you have written is common sense and rhetorical.

The lazy English as you say most probably come from the dregs of Britians society. theres plenty of them in Poland too you know. Would you get out of bed for £6/hour?

At the end of the day the Poles that came to England were earning 8 times what they could in Poland. Give me a crappy job that pays 8 times my salary and im there shovelling shit if neccesary for a few years atleast.

Living in Warmia-Mazury, I think one of the biggest fears about foreigners buying land s that the Germans will come back and buy (reclaim!) the land they had before the war or before the previous owners left for Germany. There have been a few cases where families have been evicted when someone who emigrated returned and proved they still had legal ownership of property.

I think the law of reclaim which allowed Jews and others exiled by Nazis or Commies to claim back property scared a lot of people.

the bone-idle English worker refused to get his arse out of his bed for less than £6 p/hr

Terrible when you think McD's pay 6.37ph

Find that statement quite funny, its the very same you find on forums on UK especially
Orange, you dont want english capitalists who seem to be as poor as you, so that means you are poorer than poor in UK.

Thread attached on merging:
ola123 Question for You

I have a question for you now. Why did Poland want to join EEC if you dont wish to get rich, your country will get richer by being in the EEC or maybe you preferred to be in the USSR.

Interested in opinions of all Eastern Europeans, are you worse off in EEC.

I can assure you people in UK dont want foreigners coming to work for lower wages than national rate in England of £8 per hour.if thats being a capitalist then so be it, you can always donate half the wages to others if you feel you are becoming rich :)

please dont get confussed with abramovich, regardless of Polish-Russian relations i like them, the real ones i mean, abramovich is actually jewish and is why he is in uk, becuase Putin and other wont allow him to work with making cash and stealing in Russia, thats how most of them got there cash in first place.....

getting to topic, what Ola said was maybe more direct than it sounded, but truth be known, nobody or single person should move to Poland unless they fit in, its not multicultural mess like lot of the west, dont have worrys about is the brown guy there with bag going to expload, or ptotests for others causes glogging streets, benefits going to illegals, this is what she dosnt want and noone else either, sure many Poles work around globe but as long as they come back somehow its ok, i dont like the mass migrations, many good people are away too long and only one palce suffers, Polska.....

If anyone here is super lef wing multicultrual or hippy then go live amerika, dotn try force bad things for Poland.....

and never critisize Polish people on Polish forum, otherwise dont come

We were sold by english to Russia and now they are buying our homes, lets stop them! GO HOME ENGLISH!

Haha too late.. I've already bought some and plan to buy lots more! In fact let me know where you live and I'll come round and buy the plots next door.

Welcome to the modern world . If it wasnt for all the foreign money coming into your country then you'd still be on your arse. All that EU money you so happily spend ? Well it came from us ! All those new roads ? Built with a large part of British money. So if you want Poland for the Polish. We should let you keep it and watch you slowly revert back to the 1950s !
