Grzegorz_ 51 | 6,148 5 Sep 2008 / #1Do you have any organizations here ? Like the union of British in Poland or something ?
ShelleyS 14 | 2,893 5 Sep 2008 / #2Unions are not so popular in England G (only a few of the larger organisations like the NHS still have them) so i wouldn't imagine that expats would go to the trouble of setting one up in Poland, but I could be wrong.
OP Grzegorz_ 51 | 6,148 5 Sep 2008 / #3But I don't mean trade union but NGOs like we have Federation of Poles in GB and similar around the world...
Bebi 1 | 8 5 Sep 2008 / #5There seem to be a few small organisation here, mainly common interest groups, but nothing on the scale of the Polish ones abroad as far as I can see.
Bebi 1 | 8 5 Sep 2008 / #7I don't know. I think it is just the British mentality, I spent ages before I moved over here trying to find groups so I could meet up with ex-pats, but other than an English language theatre group, there was nothing. You'll find plenty of Scottish associations and, of course Irish, but not British or even English - which is a shame.
ShelleyS 14 | 2,893 5 Sep 2008 / #9Why ?Not sure, English tend to be quite funny about that kind of thing
outintheyard 27 | 517 5 Sep 2008 / #10What about The Knights of Columbus a catholic organization for men?
osiol 55 | 3,921 5 Sep 2008 / #11Can anyone think of a name for such an organisation? It's got to have a good name for starters.
