Poland aids the world

Makes no difference to me, Seanus. Hadn't heard the Israelis were doing this; I simply saw a headline that mentioned Hamas.
Hamas, incidentally, is a terror organization; they are not one and the same as saying "Palestinian".
No doubt there's plenty of blame to go around, as there's no love lost between Hamas and the Israelis, for sure.

I've only outlined that difference about 100 times John, but thanks for pointing that out to me. Hamas is a terrorist group, wow, I didn't know that ;) ;)

Well, stating the obvious somewhat, John. I can't see a Hamas militant saying, 'well, party at my place Mr Rosenbaum?'.

I did read the article finally; it was the UN claiming Hamas raided them, not the Israelis; Hamas spokesmen said of course that they would never operate as the UN claimed they did. You are also correct, a ship was also reported as stopped by the Israeli Navy in the same paper, which they claimed was going to give supplies to Hamas.

Oh what a world we live in.

Exactly. The UN has now ceased operations until it gets cleared up. Hamas really care little for their people. They should get out ASAP.

There would be no point in Poland sending aid.

It is stupid throwing money at Africa, the people never see it. They should be taught more efficient methods of farming, we should help them develop their own water filtration systems and theach them how to live in a more efficient way.

The interest in Catholicism is also a factor which doesnt help the AIDS issue as the pope tells these ppl that they cant use a condom. Archaic atiitudes like this should be changed as well.

Shelly is right Fair Trade is really helping African people as now they can have a sense of pride in what they are doing and they can finally afford to keep their families.

Its a fact that Poland's contribution to countries such as Africa is rather insignificant compared to that of the West and to say that Poland is helping the world is at the very least an over exaggeration.

Exactly, dtaylor. There's a Chinese proverb to that effect. It goes a little something like this:

'Give a man some fish and he can feed his family for a day or 2. Give him a rod and he can feed them forever more'. (provided man doesn't destroy vital ecosystems)
