My ex was exactly the same, and she had some weird things she said to......like colgate toothpaste is not good for you,i said i been using it for 35 years and i still have all my teeth, she replied, yes but thats your teeth.lol

there are so many i can't begin to tell you.

Ha ha, I had that one too, plus don't brush your teeth with cold water? What is that all about? And when it comes to food! O my god, if you say you don't like a type of food they like, its like a dog with a bone. I don't like cucumbers, and everytime I have been there in the last 2 years they ask me if I want them? No means No. Can you buy guns in poland? :)

hahaha this conversation is great... I myself as a Polish woman... well Canadian Polish feel as though i have that trait in me lol... a little stubborness doesnt hurt lol... also the idea that we are very opinionated is true. I think that it is just because we like taking care of our men hehehe right?

Why do Polish Women Think They Know Better? Interesting question that prompted me to ask the wife. Her view is that mainly they are usually always right and that all other people on the planet are incapable of any form of logical thought, especially males who she points out usually think with other parts of their body rather than the brain. A typical example of the Polish woman confidence emerged only this weekend. She who must be obeyed has invaded my last refuge by playing golf. Sadly she has reached the standard required to venture out on the main courses at my club and insisted that we play together. All went reasonably well, excepting of course I was sulking the whole way round, until I managed to blast a ball into a hazard. As every golfer knows the rules of golf are extremely complex. Witness that the pros will always call in a rules official for a ruling to avoid being disqualified or suffering a penalty. This did not stop Mrs SZ from immediately telling me I had broken the rules when dropping my ball. Her verdict was utterly wrong and for once I was right. The remainder of the round was taken up by a constant stream of bickering. When we reached the club house she sought the advice of others to prove me wrong. Of course they supported me , except for one old dear who sided with the wife. This was taken as definitive proof despite endless trawls through the rule book and painstaking explanations from me. Even now she is confident that she is right, I am wrong and she thinks it’s a conspiracy against her.

All the polish women I have met since I have moved here are very strong minded and also very quick to voice their opinions

Sounds like me. Maybe I am really Polish and my parents didn't tell me... hmmm...

like colgate toothpaste is not good for you,

I've had a similar conversation with Mr LC LOL!

Stubborn defensiveness and a desire not to be trodden on.

I had discusions with Polkish women that opose the "equal" way of thinking... she is 25 and I know her from my X school.

Se said that men must work and women must take care of the home and maybe work a little but only if she wants..

its the man who have to take the main responsability for the money comming in..

I actually agree with her on that. I am from sweden

If she wants to stay at home then that is her business, just like it's someone else's business if she wants to work. It's 2009, and we're all different persons with different lifestyles and opinions, so I've learned that it's sometimes better not to speak for someone else..

Do you mean 'rely' as in to 'lie on once again'?.

If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.

Try teaching some high-level students of something, e.g English. Take some ear plugs and wave your arms round like you are listening. Scrunch up your eyes every once in a while and give the thumbs up.

It's quite tragic how they think they know more than you in many areas. I feel like saying 'shut your arse and give your mouth a chance'. Be sure to wash it out first ;)

Men have had every advantage of us in telling their own story. Education has been theirs in so much higher a degree; the pen has been in their hands. I will not allow books to prove anything.

The best comeback to a smarmy, know-all remark is 'quick, ask me if I care!'.

Why do Polish Women Think They Know Better?

All women think they know better.
As a friend in the office says to her husband: you can be right or you can be happy, but no both.
