My family and some friends told me that polish men get really depressed, especially about "love"

I dont think its just polish men, but all SLAVIC men. but why? because slavic people have so much and great "soul"?

I don't know about being depressed, but they are more likely to put their mind and soul into a relationship ( a true one, I shall add). When the break up happens, they can be unhappy about and express it.

Comparing a the western man who'd say oh, well b*tch begone, f u.

maybe your right. But I dont know why its only the men? so women dont get sad when something happens in a relationship?
I would say its the reverse....

Oh sure, we give it a good cry and then start to look for another.

I don't know about all Polish men obviously but my friend gets down about his relationship and he is in a good one with a lovely girl and marriage on the horizon. I think he worries that everything is going too well and surely something bad will happen because it's all too good at the moment.

Oh sure, we give it a good cry and then start to look for another.

Yes that's true. It's OK for women to do that though. Sometimes we see men as being weak when they break up with a woman and start crying all over the place. They're supposed to be strong and all that nonsense.

seems like the best cure for depression for some Polish men is to get into a fight in a nightclub or beat up fans of a rival football team ha ha...

Do you even think Justyna, is there any trace of neural activity in that hollow cranium of yours? Whenever i finally decide that i like you after all you come up with another jewel.

I very much doubt Polish or Slavic men get more emotional or depressed in matters of the heart than men anywhere in the world ;) I certainly dont think that any one nation has any more 'soul' than another :))))

I do however suspect that countries such as Ireland and Poland who share high alcohol consumption levels have higher levels of depression. Most of which I suspect is hidden or born from the bottom of a glass of beer or vodka.

My brother got really depressed cuz his girl broke up with him and now he's depressed, my dad and uncle and some other friends said it was normal to get depressed for a polak.

so dont give me none of that crap. "hmmmm... that's interesting"

i think that if people cared about somebody and the relationship ends one way or another, everybody feels down and sad... no matter it's a woman or a man or the nationality etc...

if a person feels careless after all, there were no feelings at all...

What do you think men from other countries do, roll around the floor laughing ? How old are you ?

Did I say that? Did I ask that? no! I just asked why are polish people so depressed?
but yes in other countries (not eastern europe) men dont care as much.

Black men shoot you.
Jewish men accuse you of being anti-semit.
French men surrender to their fate.

That's a huge generalization. Of course many men from other places than Eastern Europe also get depressed when things like these happen. Some people try to hide it more than others.

I agree, your family and friends saying that's normal for a Polish person is as useful as saying it's normal for an Indian. If you are in love with someone then no matter where you come from you get quite down.

Polish women are always depressed except when dancing and drinking.

that is probably due to the fact that most of us don't have a guy like southern in our lives ha ha

Polish people arent so depressed, rates of depression in Poland are no more than anywhere else in the world. Sucide rates per head of capita in Poland are not even in the top ten, and are beneath France and Switzerland. How can you say men in other countries dont care so much ? Thats a ridiculous assumption, if a man from anywhere loves a woman and she dies or leaves him of course its dperessing and heart breaking. Individuals are different everywhere, some cope better than others. It certainly hasnt anything to do with someones nationality, human nature is just that....nature. Thus why I asked you how old you are ?

How old are you ?

I wont tell you how old I am. But more than old enough to drink...
Its the same thing with playing music. You get a Polak or russian that plays the violin and tell him to play some tchaikovsky, than you ask an american or mexican to play the same thing. Both people have the same violin skills. Who will understand the music more, who will give it more soul and play it more beutifully?

The same thing with love, Im not saying people that arent slavs dont care about love but that slavs get just more depressed.

what's love got to do with depression? i find that many Polish guys i know are not emotional at all, they just like to be tough guys all the time.

i'm guessing you're just over the drinking age limit then. stop stereotyping, young friend.

Thats the second most ridiculous thing I have read here. You obviously know as much about music as you do people. Havent you heard of Paganini (Italy) jean luc ponty (France) Hillary Hahn (American) Regina Carter (American) ?????? I suggest you listen to them play tchaikovsky, bach etc. Your ignorance is irritating me, really irritating me.

'Slavs' dont get more depressed than people form anywhere.

Polish or Russian musicians dont play music with anymore 'soul' or understand what they play anymore than great musicians from other nationalities.

First of all Im a guy dip****. Second, I played violin since 6 years old. Im in a professional orch. YOUR ignorance is really irritating me!!! Im not talking about the best of the best!!! Read what I write!!! I said the SAME SKILLS ON VIOLIN! and the eastern european will play TCHAIKOVSKY better compared to an american. Not paganini, not schubert, not mozart. BUT Rachmaninov, Wienawski, Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky. etc.

What part of the above dont you understand ?

Eastern europeans will NOT play "Rachmaninov, Wienawski, Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky" on the violin better than anyone with similar skill from elsewhere. Now I suggest you travel, open your ignorant little mind, study depression and what causes it, study psychology, advise your family members who suffer from depression to seek therapy and go away to play with dolls or whatever keeps you from self harm.

Do you just want people to think your dumb as ****.

Your really pissin me off. If your polish than your a real disgrace to our blood. Truly. wstyd do wszystkich polaków.
Ask any polish or russian violin teacher "do we play classical music more beutifully than americans"? and than come back and write what they told you smart***.

My family doesnt suffer from depression, but looks like your family is suffering from Stupidity.
