Are Polish people civilised or not? My thoughts...

When foreigners come to another country only to work, that's what they concentrate on. Money.
They most often barely speak the language, know little about the culture and customs of another country and will stick to each other and to what is familair to them. Some girls feel the taste of freedom from Poland and go wild, cheating on their bfs exploring the unknown..... yuk lol

PC is right, I've heard horror stories about the Brits who come across to abuse Krakow by committing all sorts of sins. Far from civilised. I mean, we've all gotten a little drunk and done silly things but they are purely obnoxious.

I'd guess that most Poles enjoy a few tinnies with their mates at home after work. The ones in the UK, that is. Nowt wrong with that of course.

to be eligible to claim unemployment benefit you must have worked in the state for a period of time (over a year I think) This means they have paid taxes, prsi etc. and are entitiled to claim this benefit. If you contribute to a country,why should you not be allowed to enjoy the benefits also.

What do you say about the lazy ass Irish who have been claiming social since they left school, who could have had a job, 50 times over????? you don't mind supporting these wasters?

I saw 3 guys do a funny thing today. They ordered 3 beers but maybe decided that 3 was too many. So the guy went back inside with 2 of them and returned to his table. Some 3 mins later, the waiter came out with a scabby old 2l coke bottle full of beer. They had filtered this beer into an old bottle, hmm....

It just appeared like an alcoholic's stunt.

Trust me, it's what I call the park bench mentality. We have many such people in Scotland.

Well, he may be one of those on his way to Chorzów for that footie match. I wouldn't mind going, it's just along the road from Gliwice. I've often worked in Katowice and Chorzów is even closer. We'll see some uncivilised people on both sides. God help those NI fans that come. One of my students knows some in the hooligan fraternity and their plans aren't classic Polish hospitality, let's say that much.

I just pray that the innocent families that come here aren't set upon. Chorzów is home to some of the worst, if not the worst, fans in Poland. NOT civilised people, they give other Poles a bad name.

Thanks :) I was in Chorzów in Aug 2007 for the wedding of my fiancee's bro. Not knowing Chorzów, I decided to go off on a walk to see some parts. I was swiftly caught up by my fiancee who proceeded to tell me off. She told me that I was heading for the parts which housed the dregs of humanity, those uncivilised brutes that would stick a knife in your back and ask you if you want seconds.
