Opinions about Radio Maryja

Here's a message from my flatmate about Radio Maryja:

I have the feeling he's not a fan.

Radio Maryja is pretty awful.Not too many good things to say about it, unless you're a fan of reactionary right wing ,xenophobic, antisemitic, anti-gay hate mongering with an emphasis on progarmming for the rural over 70 demographic.An embarassment to Poland.

In the past there was “Radio Wolna Europa”- Radio Free Europe, we all know what the red part of polish society thought of it. It’s not surprising that Radio Maria doesn’t appeal to some.

- Can you actually give any evidence to back your charges, mole? Any quotes, dates, and the like?


- Actually, why? And who would be the ones we Poles should feel embarassed towards? You?!

I don't know where you came from to Poland, but if you came from e.g. America, UK, or Israel, hm, it would be pretty hypocritical of you to complain about the alleged 'antisemitism' (what the hell is that?) 'antigayism' and what not of Radio Maryja, considering what real horrific hate propaganda against the Poles has been propagated by hacks-psychopaths in those countries.

--No, my post shows that I choose to see things for what they are, whether a country, a people or a radio station.I doubt whether I'm part of the "hate propaganda" , as you call it.I've chosen to live in Poland for the last 6 years, and think it's a wonderful place albeit with many issues still to be resolved.

I posted a topic about Father Rydzyk/Radio Maryja back in July, but it didn't seem to stimulate much discussion...I'm glad that people are talking about it now, as I learn something from the discussion...By the way, I believe Joe Sobran is a Polish-American...

don't be bothered with the 'anti-semite' term...it is a Jewish propaganda slogan & makes no sense anyway, because the great majority of Jews have no semitic descent, and if the term applies to anyone, it applies to them, because they hate Arabs...having said that, I think that Radio Maryja, and the Catholic Church in general might benefit from a change in style, just a bit...it is very nationalistic/conservative, and most young people

are neither...maybe a little more emphasis on arts & culture, but not neccesarily just Church oriented culture...the arts & music are both God-afirming by nature, since God is the 'Master Painter' & 'Composer'...art/music doesn't have to have a 'Roman Catholic' or

nationalistic theme to promote the spiritual well-being of the Polish people...Radio Maryja
would do well to reach out to young people & new ideas which are the future.

Its amazing people still believe in God, but hey "religion is the opiate of the masses". For the unenlightened, the scared, the brain washed and brain dead.

Religion can be good, and everyone can believe in God, but i think it should not influence your political way of thinking. Church has nothing to do with the State. For me, beliefs, religions are private matters ;)

Before people jump all over me, yes I really hate any form of lies which is why I hate HATE religion and ********. More people have been butchered burnt and raped in the name of a f-ing deity than anything else. closely followed by political beliefs, secular religion. Alll f-ing crap makes me VERY VERY VERY angry.

I understand Giles, but religion is not only lies, there are good points, like giving hope to people that really need it for example.

But i'm just saying that it should be private and not public like sometimes it is...For example about abortion, i don't think it's for Jaro Kaczki (who even doesn't know what is a woman...LOL) to take decisions in the name of God that no women can choose to abort. It's for women to choose, not a duck ! Am i wrong ? ;)

You should be angry on the nature of mankind(greed, lust for power, etc) and not on religion itself. Blaming religion for all things bad in the world is just as silly as blaming sex for homophobia.
