Leroy Merlins Price Protection

did i say anything about 19 days?? NO. read it again. I bought on the 17th and saw it went on sale 5 days later.

Did I say I felt treated like crap? NO. read it again.

about this price protection that some ppl here don't seem to understand. How does it make sense to return an item(heavy/bulky) to the shop, get my money back then go buy the same item at a lesser price, and take same (heavy/bulky) item back home when all it takes is a little paperwork, (what doesn't in PL)

I guess that some ppl here also don't get- I found their return/price protection policy quite interesting and wanted to share it with ppl here. In the end I got them to refund me the 320zl and i didn't have to lug/transport that unit.

I have nothing bad to say about LM. 90% of their workers here can speak English, which helps, and they are not arrogant and walk around with a chip on their shoulder like Castorama workers.

That is why I always go to LM.

Do they have "price protection" in the first place. If they don't that reply is perfectly understandable. No one has come to the store wanting the discount refunded so there's no protocol concerning procedures. It's a logical conclusion to reach if you haven't granted any refunds like this before.

Too many people are missing the point. It is not whether they should have "price protection" or not...they do have it. The point is they were too lazy/stupid to apply it correctly. The OP shouldn't have had to convince a manager what the common sense way to deal with it was. Common sense and customer service are the issues...there is a huge deficiency of both in Poland.

90 % speak English... Hmmm ... why should they in the first place? Do 90% of shop employees in the US speak Polish, or any other language?
And they were NOT too lazy to put any kind of idiot price protection. They do not have to.
Stop whining and buy yourself a nice crystal ball.

"Oh yes, I bought this tin of Whiskas 6 months ago and in the meantime the price has changed. Can I get a refund?" Hopeless.

In the OP's case at Leroy Merlin they DID have Price Protection....they DID HAVE it as a policy....and the first workers he spoke to WERE too lazy or stupid to apply it reasonably.

You are correct nobody HAS to have it..but if you do...AND AGAIN THEY DID AT LEROY MERLIN...actually use it correctly and not like some lazy git who cant be bothered follow their own rules (hmmmm seems a common theme in Poland)

This is the part where you admit you were wrong...if you are man enough. Are you? Or do you actually agree that even if you have a policy you don't need to follow it?

Sobieski.....you just don't get it. What nationality are you? Where do you live?

I was making the point that a large amount of the workers do speak english,so when i need to buy sth and i can't find it, and can't say what it is in Polish, I have English to fall back on.

I bet that 90% of workers in the USA speak Spanish, so what problem would it be for a Spanish speaking person? See...you just don't get it. Get out from the rock u live under.

They do have price protection. But you just don't get it.

About the Whiskas.....a man with a cat....real manly. You must be a real killer with the ladies. Or is it only what you can afford to eat?

I'm not going to squabble over 1-50PLN, but when its over 50PLN, I'll do what I can.

Your logic, Sobieski is fuzzy. Perhaps your nic is reflective of your favourite poison.

Not meaning to be smart, but why would they refund the whole price without receiving the product back?

nauczyciel,

stop trying to rank "american way" on a country that clearly has its own history and way of doing things, of sourse some things could and should be better, and cust service is still in its infancy here.

daft yanks trying to push there "we know best" qualities.....................humbug .....

We see your point, just stop thinking that what your used to in the good ole us of a is the way you expect things to happen here.

grow up and stop being so aggressive....................bring back jerry springer .........all is forgiven!

i'm not american so take all your american rah rah crap and stuff it.

who are you to tell me to grow up?

if you like Jerry Springer, what does that say about you?

I am aggressive, ruthless and proud of it. I stomp all over ppl that get in my way so I can get my stuff done.

If you are a pushover, you will never succeed in business.

I stand up for what I believe in.

But most ppl in PL are pushovers and have not learned to stand up to what is right. They continually accept mediocrity, getting the shaft from the system, and sit around complaining about how they are treated, but do nothing to change the system.

the bottom line if you read all the posts in this thread, LM did offer price protection. The way that they facilitated it by having to return the item, just to get it back was rediculous. That was the focus of my rant.

I bought an air conditioner for my flat. it was 998zl on Friday July 17.

On Thursday July 23 I was in LR and saw the same unit on sale for 679zl.

I went to the customer service counter and asked to get the difference in price refunded because it is now cheaper than the price i paid.

What? The price you should pay is the price on the day you bought it. Or do I forget something? So, if I buy something and then I go back later and see that they reduced the price, I can ask them to get the difference back? I have never heard of something like that. But I must try that next time. Sounds crazy but okey...

Leroy Merlins Price Protection

I go through a fair amount of machinery here in Poland, im on my third chainsaw in three years for example. I keep the receipts or guarantees and just take them back to be repaired everytime and they do often brake, if they cant be repaired i just demand a refund. Perhaps i should have just bought a Stihl from the beginning but hey i didnt.

Heat guns for stripping paint are the worse weve been through atleast 15.
