Permit of residence in Warsaw?

If i sign a contract for the flat/room which i will rent is it enough to prove them that i am registered?They told me that i need to go to gmena to register me...but is it enough if i show to Dluga street the contract?

Hi All,

I am an Indian recently moved to Warsaw with wife - last week to be precise
Managed to get a house

Now I need to apply for a residence permit

How do I do it?
How much time do I still have before I am thrown out of the country?
Where is the office where I have to apply for it?
How much time does it normally take?

I am here on a work permit and my wife on a dependent visa
