szybciej is faster. szybko is fast.

Seriously, I'm not your man for this. I've never learned from any sites. Ask Justysia, she might know.

I can help you with a few things. The basics for sure.

helghast try here: Practice your Polish the two stickys at the top to start with.

Also try Byki there is a free download there. You get a good bit free but have to pay for a little more. The free stuff should give you a good start though. :)

I've been here since january but I haven't even tried to learn polish, I got too scared. However, as I mentioned in a previous post, I missed out on a 8000.- a month opportunity because I don't speak polish. So now i'm determined to challenge myself and pick up a working knowledge of Polish in 30 days. Plus I feel like a bastard coming here and expecting to get by with english.just The goal is for me to be able to read children's books in Polish within a month. I might ask for help once in a while with translations etc.It can be done!

oh shit alright guys here's the deal, I chose a bad time to take up this challenge, I went away for a week and a half, and much of my free time otherwise has been taken up with this website I'm making which is killing me because I'm trying to use Flash/php, for which I have no experience. I really wanted to ace this Polish challenge and leave all of you awed and shut-faced, now I just feel like moron, sorry..I will renew this challenge again once I make sure that the month ahead is clear of major happenings.Believe it!

szybciej is faster. szybko is fast.

I have no desire to be stupid. BUT! Here in the States my family, always said prenko for fast. Was this a type of slang?

DUH! Oh yeah.. For slow we were taught to say pomalu????

prędko is not slang. It refers to speed. Prędkość for example

Think of the expression, 'sooner or later' in Polish. Prędzej czy pózniej

Slow is powoli. Pomalu???

'sooner or later' in Polish. Prędzej czy pózniej

it'd be 'wcześniej czy później'...

Slow is powoli. Pomalu???

Powoli?? Hmmm, I know pozwoli.. We refer it to ALLOW.
I get the feeling that I would have trouble in Poland with my Honky Polish.

Honky Polish, LOL. Pozwoli is ok, from pozwolić (to permit/let/allow)

Prędzej czy póżniej sorry. This means sooner or later in my interpretation.

Kryzys na rynkach finansowych prędzej czy póżniej musiał wpłynąć na gospodarkę, please translate this then, pgtx

I'd translate it broadly as 'the current financial crisis on the market had to, sooner or later, impact on the economy'.

Slow is powoli. Pomalu???

Slow - wolno, powoli.
Slowly - pomału, powolnie; but actually 'wolno' too.

Seanus:'sooner or later' in Polish. Prędzej czy pózniej

it'd be 'wcześniej czy później'...

And here it doesn't really matter which version you choose. I mean, both are okay, polishgirl.

Yes, both versions are used. In fact, I hear prędzej used more than wcześniej.
