Anna_Luv_1987 - | 2 17 Sep 2007 / #4Merged: KOCHANA or KOCHANY or KOCHANIE?hi all!!i went to krakow 7 months ago and met this really cool polish guy. its his birthday soon and i want to send him a nice card. i asked a friend how i could say 'dear/beloved' but in a funny kind of way, to make it sound a bit old fashioned. i think she told me i could use KOCHANA but maybe it was KOCHANY or KOCHANIE -- she tried to explain the different endings to me but they really confuse me :-))) so if a girl wants to use this word to a guy, is KOCHANA correct? cenkuye in advance :-Dxx anna
Zetta - | 2 17 Sep 2007 / #5For a guy you have to use Kochany (Kochana is for a woman) Kochanie means the same as "sweety" so it can be used for a female and male, but i think is more used for female (also for your child or i.e. sister)Zetta

Kris 3 | 9 22 Sep 2007 / #7When referring to a guy in English you use 'He' or 'him' and for a girl you use 'she' or 'her'.When talking of their belongings, it is 'his' for a guy, and 'hers' for a girl.
emma7777 - | 1 23 Dec 2008 / #8Merged: Kochanie/Kochana addressing a group of friends???Is it possible to address a group of friends as "Kochanie" or "Kochana"?A polish friend of mine said that he can address a group of mixed gender friends this way? He said it is a bit like saying "My dear friends".Is this true? Or is it mixed up?
