Life / Queuing and Polish people [49]

Try boarding any tunnel train connecting terminals in an airport - then you get to mix all cultures to win the award for worse combined queue jumping.

I used to say when I worked for the airline industry when my mainly American customer base would queue jump all over the place - especially when boarding the plane to Las Vegas - who the hell cares, you are all on the same vehicle going the same direction at the same velocity :o)

As long as your a** is on the train before the door closes - or so that your body interruptes the closing the the door (while not recommended - can be effective ;-) ) what does it matter.

History / Polish Jews - they changed their Jewish surnames to Polish [532]

I'm sure by saying this I'm "betraying" my Jewish heritage, but from where I stand I see that the Jews are capable of espousing hate as anyone else. I was thoroughly repulsed by the hatred and indiferrence I can hear if I spend time with many relatives of my family who seem to soon forget that we have cousins, aunts and uncles who died in Auschwitz by the very same hand of ignornace that they now hold.

I do not support Zionism - In my eyes it perpetuates as much death, inhumanity and violence as the so-claimed "muslim terrorist" organizations. Who the f*** gave any of these people the right to claim God and then kill in his name. Talk about blasphemy!!!While I do not claim to be an expert in the situation in Palestine - I personally believe that being born from one of the "12 tribes" or any other heritage give you a right to go kill, uproot and overrun any other people and then proclaim righteousness with blood on your hands before God.

Without the crucifixion, there would be no Christianity.

.

How can the Son of God be a Jew, or have any 'religion' for that matter?...God is the 'alpah & omega' or the beginning & end...He is...He belongs to no religion

Amen!!! to both comments. And how many millions have found salvation in Christ?...perhaps the Jews are "chosen" to show reflections from both sides of humanity's coin. It may be both a blessing and a curse. I always got uncomfortable when certain denominations of Christians would come up to me and say "oh you are a Jew, you are one of the Chosen". No - I do not believe salvation is a birthright, but a way of living. There is not "auto pilot" button to liberation from this material world.

Dangerous for the JEWS!

Simply below conversation level of intelligent people. Hatred of any kind if filth and the bain of the planet I don't give two sh**s it it hate about Jews or Anti-Semetics. Just ignorance being kicked back and forth not quite point of a forum - thus they should lock it.

Then if we need to establish Juvenile Banter about Hatred thread we can do it.

Love / How to get to know a polish guy better? [102]

although if i keep calling him like that i don't know if i wil ever like him

You probably won't because you will have painted a frame of reference around him that is less than desirable most likely.

One a completely separate note from my earlier thread comments, liii like you I wrote the guy I had wanted to know better and it was flatly received. However 3 days afterwards, I met a great Polish guy from Warsaw (to exchange learning Polish) and we've talked just about every day since. :) And the language trade is the least of our conversations and interest. Ironic how things can be!!

Travel / Is there a limit to the number of trips in 1 year to Poland? [21]

Czesc! Just got back from my first visit to Warszawa. I loved the city - didn't see it as negative as some of the comments I've read out here. I am most amazed by the Polish people in general - I have never met people so kind, generous and welcoming. The people I met in Warszawa expanded my already great perspective on Polish culture and friendship.

I am curious if anyone can tell me if there are is a restriction on the number of times in one year a visitor can visit for under 90 days? Meaning for example, if I was considering moving there on a part-time basis for say 45-60 days at a time... since my business is virtual (web) based, eventually want to find a business venture there but know it is not easy so a foothold would be helpful....but in the meantime, travel back and forth regularly as not need to haggle with visa approvals.

Any ideas or feedback would be helpful....I'm just starting to learn.

okay - thanks for that information - so basically if I travel there for a few 1 week trips then as I get closer to that 90 day cap I'll need to apply for a visa? Does that sound right? I'm going to check with the consulate....just appreciate feedback from "real people" too :)
