UK, Ireland / TRUTH AND DELUSION ABOUT POLES IN UK [65]

Not this AGAIN...........................and AGAIN.................and AGAIN.................

Simply put...life is tough in most palces if you aint a native, don't speak the language and aint got enough money.

Anyone who places any crediblity in what they read in the press apart from the title on the top of first page is deluded.

I believe the Republic of Ireland was the first English speaking place to start reporting the 'backlash' against Poles and the rise of unprovoked attacks on Polish people living there.

This is not correct in my view.....it may well have been in N Ireland were Polish (CATHOLICS!!!!!!!!), moved into PROTESTANT working class areas.............ie local catholics wuda gotten the same abuse....!!!

Plus the Ireland is a much smaller country and has take per head of population 10 times what the UK has taken.......so IRELAND has been the true friend of all the East Europens peoples...sure people have been discriminated against....but so are locals!!!

You must remember...migrant workers, only want to earn money.....not integrate, not become part of society and then go home, they ghettoize themselves, and locals get suspicious...sounds familiar?

BUT overall, for the huge numbers that have come here......nearly all achieved what they wanted to acheive......if they want to go to the next step.......they need to try learning more English, integrate more, stay for extended periods....get their qualifications recognised, start out on a career....this would no different if they lived in any other country in the world!!!

Best wishes to all our migrant guests!!!

Or perhaps best to use your bebit card for a small amount in Poland, lesser charge than the banks £3, plus if you have a Nationwide account, no fee to pay!

Real Estate / Poland property boom over???? [54]

Poland property boom over?

Who knows.....

No-one....

Example: Irish banker sitting in his office one day is thinking to buy a flat in Warsaw. He takes a holiday and travels to Poland for several days, looks at a flat in Warsaw and bids a higher price than the Pole who wanted it, then buys it and goes back to his home in Ireland.

But they only represent a miniscule part of the market........its your own local speculators who drove the market mainly.

there are a hellova lot of poles who have sold property at these kind of prices, set by them and not foreign speculators, who are now exceedingly rich and laughing all the way to the bank

Shuda read Bubbs post first!!!

History / Jewish love towards Poles [389]

With Jews there seems to be a problem.

No more so than with other nations, races, religions...by yet again by questioning the legitimacy of the Jewish people and their beliefs you automatically join the ranks or the prejudiced and persecutors of the world..........aka Nazis.

The world is full of anti-semites........and people who could never think for themselves...always following the herd, pitiful.

Telling everyone that they are the "chosen" people

So you're condemning 1 billion Catholics too...who belong to the "one true faith"....get a grip......the wolrd will always be full of the prejudiced, from whose well springs forth the never ending flow of injustice and persecution.

Have a happy new year........better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.

So he wants to play the field.......he's 21...for gods sake, you're 19....children in real world terms....

USA, Canada / Health care, USA is messed up what about your country? [33]

In Norway the healthcare is free, but it suffers from not having enough funds. One would believe that in one of the Worlds richest countries we would have a good healtcare system ,but we dont. People die while waiting for operations here ,because the goverment wont spend the money needed.

Which is a an absolute disgrace...as their country sits on a $388 BILLION investment fund due to their oil revenues ( which is second only to the UAE and 50% bigger than Saudi Arabias!!!)......for a country of 5 million people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UK, Ireland / Immigrants trigger Irish rethink [71]

Lots of Irish as well.

True, but they were only deported for effectively, political reasons.

You have to remember that the Irish were owned by the English for centuries....mere chattels to be used and abused......

UK, Ireland / Immigrants trigger Irish rethink [71]

most australians have british relatives.

Yeah...mostly of the British criminal class........:)....so we dont want them back either.....

british are not emigrating to australia in hundreds of thousands claiming housing, education, benefits, childcare benifits, nhs etc. etc.

Nor are the Polish people.........................................any other pointless points of view you have?

Feel free NOT to post them!!

UK, Ireland / Drunken Poles on the streets of London!! [103]

NICE replly!

British guys who go to eastern Europe to get drunk and buy sex.
Is there dirtier than that?

Way dirtier...........lol...but the local East Europeans do it..... so.................you are condemning all nations?

The Irish can be trouble for sure. Especially gypsies. Irish gypsies make English gypsies look like saints.

And the English.......................so proud................?.........if only you knew!

News / interview with Donald Tusk (Financial Times) [41]

I know some men who have found out where she will be buried when she dies and they have every intention of visiting her grave an p*ssing on it

Emmmm....not sure if thats a very british thing to do.....I dont approve!

News / interview with Donald Tusk (Financial Times) [41]

Thatcher may well have been the catalyst for what UK is today, but she went about it in quite the most brutal fashion......whole regions of the UK feel more emnity towards her than they to other traditional enemies, the real winners were the central government and big industry, the ordinary guy in the street felt betrayed and brutalised by the whole experience of her years in office.

Yes, thing needed to change, but once again the ordinary person was seen as the enemy.....so shameful, another blot on the history of the UK.

Travel / Health Tourism in Poland [17]

Yes, I have also used the services of a dentist in Warsaw, who told me she has regular clients from the UK and Nordic countries, indeed whilst I was there, a Danish client phoned and she fitted him in the next day!!

I was very pleased with her attitude, professionalism and end result - never mind the 70% saving on UK fees!

UK, Ireland / Job and accommodation market in Ireland are getting scarce [9]

There are about 400,000 Polish people living in Ireland and thousands more arriving every year.

Seems to be an exaggeration...source? Current figures quoted are around....250,000, perhaps Daffy can up-date?

move to canada is my recommendation

Ireland.....2hrs from Poland......Canada...9 to east coast........plus you can get to Ireland for minimal amounts.......cheapest to canada.....£350(?)...plus most workers are migrants only.

UK, Ireland / United Kingdom versus Ireland - which one better to live? [19]

As an Irishman.....living in a small rural town, Polish people have gotten on well here, just today in my bank, the person in front of me in a queue and behind me, were Polish, and the 4 guys outside painting the bank...were Polish too!

It all depends on what you look for, and what your expectations are.

Hopefully most people have had a great experince, if at times difficult, but there will always be a small proportion for whom its a nightmare.......but hopefully fewer in Ireland!

Polish people have lots in common with the Irish.......maybe a bit less with the English, which may make a difference.

Feedback / Forum suggestion: What about Polonia - Ireland? [65]

I think I'll cope - three years of being asked 'Are you from Sydney?' and having the neighbours theme song sung at me has kind of killed any 'I'm not an f**king Australian' feeling left in me. I just shrug my shoulders and get on with it...

Aw...poor Liza......being labelled an aussie.....wot an insult.....you must cringe up inside and slowly.................slowly die..............

But seriously...if you're bigger, brasher not got a whole lot to say for themselves in world terms........the Australians...get on you're know whats...do what a mate of mine did when he first went to England many years ago, yes say you are Aussie...then proceed to behave in the most outlandish way possible..........just short of being arrested...whilst crowing on about being so proud of an Aussie.......completely sully the name of your "nation"........:)....:)....of course only do this in the company of people you'll never meet again!!!!

Liza 61 Aussies rules 0..........result!
