Sorry to hear that - but you must be socializing with a small very narrow minded group of English people - or living in an isolated area where people are backward. Seriously you must get away and meet some decent British people and experience some of the great things here.

Some towns/areas of England always seem clean.Other areas often seem dirty/rundown. England can actually be a cheap place to live due to all the discount stores and supermarket special offers.Dangerous? - again it depends whereabouts. The problem before (maybe still) for some Polish people was that they were very naive and chose to live in areas with low cheap rents.The reason for these cheap rents was that that these were rundown blighted areas infested with drug adicts,lifetime benefit scroungers,and all the dangerously mentally unstable and problem families that councils rehoused.Areas like this (which seem to be growing thanks to the benefits culture here) are dangerous.
