Life / Why Poles don't use Facebook? [43]

it's like a fusion between facebook and friends reunited

Yeah I had an account there once but it started to bore me... maybe its the friends I kept there, it just seemed like people trying to look cool to me.

or to see who's been viewing your profile

You have to pay for that now?

Love / Abuse in relationships (my first Polish girlfriend) [216]

johncardwell

You offer a lot of advise and I appreciate that, however, I did not come here for your advice.

Read my first post clearly and you will see I was asking if this was generally accepted behavior in Poland not what I need to do to sort out my love life.

I'm a big boy, I'll manage.

haha...I like your response. I don't necessarily agree but I still like the response. I mean, to the guy who started the tread, you are a guy. There isn't much you can do, you can't hit her. (don't cross that line). But you should be able to either walk away or like SzwedwPolsce was trying to say - get a grip man.

What do you think I did....? of course I held her arms down and stopped her from hitting me, do you think I'm an idiot? lol Yeah I just stood there and let her sit me presenting each side once I was fully beaten on the other.

<zalamka>

I don't think this is a Polish thing though because all the people I have been meeting are great and my Polish friend, she's really cool too. This seems like something in your relationship - maybe this is what gets her riled up.

Sounds like you have a lot of experience with Polish women... like you know one girl... when you get a badge let me know.

Just a question, are you still with her? If so why?

No, I am not.

Another question, if she was the same nationality as you would you go on a forum and ask people if they thought it was okay for girl kick seven bells out of them, because aparently they'd done with it with previous ex boyfriends?

It's my first relationship with a Polish girl and I've never witnessed this type of behavior with English girls... nor German... nor South African... I just found it strange the comment she made and it made me wonder if this type of behavior is typical in Poland.

I dont really think that this has anything to do with her nationality.

Maybe you are right.

Travel / Thinking about having a roadtrip in Poland... [41]

I think there may have been snow in April this year, but that was exceptional...

I'm sure J_B can advise us on that.

I will see if I can borrow my bro's 4 wheel drive Mitsubishi Delicia. Depends on which country I am in at the time of trip.

haha what a cool little van!

I don't have a drivers licence but I've been driving all sorts of vehicles since I was six years old so I really just have to do the practical test as I've done the theory.

Then we have two drivers so you could get your head down instead of the pressure being heaped on you.

Well we can take our time to plan this, nobody needs to rush out and do anything.

When does the snow stop in Poland? Surely in April? I was there in Feb and it was still snowy.

Life / What is assumption day in Poland? [18]

(does this help?)

Perfect.

I will assume you are an idiot on this day ;)

as a quick google would have told you

A quick google search is no fun when you have a forum full of Polish experts to help out.

Thank you.

Travel / Thinking about having a roadtrip in Poland... [41]

unfortunately i know the secret as well

I wish I'd never told you...

yeah sure (;

YEAH SURE! *******!

I actually thought of travelling! But I guess you don't want me there. Why a new car? Is old one to small so there's no room for me :(

Why wouldn't we want you there? We could use a native! You could ride in the boot :D or we my have to find something a bit bigger, we'd save on money that way too.

:)

Travel / Thinking about having a roadtrip in Poland... [41]

Just thought if this ever happens we need to film it so that PF members can share in the experience!

Ohh yes... I love to document my trips in whichever way shape or form I can! I'd be an excellent cameraman!

I got a Sony micromv DCR-IP1E, a really compact video camera.

Nice little DV cam.

If she's coming I'll have to buy a new car

Don't worry about that, we are stopping off to see her rather than her traveling with us... I think? or am I incorrect JB?

Love / Abuse in relationships (my first Polish girlfriend) [216]

Mate, I don't mean to be rude but are you doubting my intelligence?

I know what a slap is and I also know what attacking someone is, I had a partial black eye and cuts on my face and legs.

Hardly a over the top chat up line in a club.

I agree mostly with what ZIMMY says however there is such a thing as being too anti-feminism.

I'm not sitting here complaining that she abused me because she didn't. She lost her temper and lashed out and I've done the same by smashing the sh*t out of whats nearby i.e. a door or a wall etc but I've never once thought about actually laying a finger on her because I'm better than that.

I just expected her to be sorry in some way for what she did rather than say "I've done that to my ex's and they never said anything about hitting me back" (Read my original post before anyone claims that I threatened to hit her) I merely said that she was lucky I didn't hit her back because some men would have done that.

Then I start to wonder if other women may be like this and like welshguyinpoland said he has seen it and so has dtaylor so maybe it's not so random after all. I notice that the people who did speak up after being assaulted are British and not Polish so it does make me wonder if this is a typical behavior in Poland, we all know that a stereotype Polak man would rather die than be ridiculed by his peers (or maybe we don't all think that but it's the impression I get).

I did restrain her as sb mentioned earlier then I walked out.

It's been an eye opener though.

Ohh and McCoy... go and have a wank you little sh*t. ;)
