How many seats did you win? What was the net gain? We both know the answer to that. Sinn Fein lost more seats than they gained.

By going against the wishes of the Irish people? Thats not earning his bread, that is selling out the country. There is a word for it. ;)

Dream of that United Ireland, mo chara. If you Shinners get your way we will be a minority in our own country. Whats the point of a United country when the majority of people residing it will be foreigners?

Poles and other foreigners will have no say in the matter. Only Irish citizens can vote in referendums.

Would that be all those africans and asians that now have Irish citizenship?

Yes a couple of thousand. Hardly earth shattering is it?

Irish people who never emigrated can complain if they wish. We are a sovereign nation.

Unlike the Shinner, Brits Out Poles In, we never killed anyone! Pro-active indeed.

Its a Sunday. I may return during the week. I am from West Dublin and we have little or no integration here. In fact, anyone I speak with wants to ship the slavs back.

Also, foreigners can only vote in local elections. If they are EU citizens they can vote in European elections. Only Irish and British citizens resident here can vote in General Elections and Referendums. You have no clue of the political system in Ireland.

Well, that's sad and also the cause of your frustrations. Get out and see some things. Visit a few other countries. Listen less to your peers and make your own decisions.

I have, I have been to Poland. Nice place. Missing a couple of hundred thousand Poles though. ;)

SeanBM

It worries me that you are allowed roam free. I think you are a tad mad.

Remember this, Irelands foooked. Better off staying or going home. Best of luck. Peace.

Below you can find a list of our representatives in the various areas and constituencies. Click on a representative's name for full details and a profile for that candidate.

This facility will be completed shortly, please bear with us and thanks for your patience...

The site was finished last week. I did not set it up.

I do not care for you one way or the other, just another traitor to the Irish nation. I hope you stay in your slavic paradise.

Ireland does not owe the world a living. You were tolerated when times where good. Now, with Ireland in the grips of recession you are not needed here anymore. You where guest workers. Ireland the UK and Sweden were the only EU countries who opened our labour markets to you eastern europeans. What happened in Ireland was one of the largest immigration of cheap labour ever seen in post war times. It has changed the fabric of Irish society forever. It has been a sheer disaster as a whole.

The only reason Poles are employed over Irish is because they are cheaper. Big business needed cheap labour and Fianna Fail where happy to provide it. The builders and property developers needed cheap labour to continue the property bubble, bring in eastern europeans get them to build cavity blocks from one end of the island to another, and then rent them said cavity blocks. It nearly worked too!

Now, Irish people are happily taking any jobs so the Poles are no longer needed. Instead, they are going on the dole in massive numbers. 38% of all workers in Ireland do not pay taxes. This would include most immigrants, therefore this myth that you are entitled to welfare is patently false. You worked here for three years or so paying very little into the system bar a couple of euro in PRSI each month. As a whole, Poles are a burden on the state. 50,000 on the dole. 1.5 billion sent home. Over 125 million spent on teaching foreign kids english. Over 3,000 Polish on rent allowance each month.

Ever hear the term importing poverty? Well that is what Ireland has just done, we have imported poverty from eastern europe. Our dole spongers are a problem I agree, but importing eastern europeans to keep them company in the dole offices across the country is hardly a sound policy is it?

I could touch on the social issues of mass immigration........but I would be here all night.

Some more so than others. We went from bust to boom in a matter of months. Our insane immigration policies(sic) did not cause it, but it certainly did not help.

With a controlled immigration policy, like Austria and Germany, we would not have 80,000 foreigners on the dole.

80,000(50,000) of which are Poles on 204 euro a week! Madness.

50,000 X 204= 10,200,000 euro.

530,400,000 euro per annum to be precise. Add to that rent allowance, medical cards, childrens allowance etc etc and you get the picture.

We needed Polish workers to come here and work in Polish shops?

We had 150,000 on the scracther, we should have cut their welfare and made them work. No need for eastern europeans.

IrishDeano

I oppose all fraud. But coming to another country to live off the taxpayer is taking the ****. Just out of interest, is it not true that a foreigner in Poland needs to have worked there for ten years before they can claim welfare? Fair play if true.

The Irish social welfare system was won by Irish unions, it was a safety net for Irish citizens who fell on hard times. Now it seems it is a fishing net for eastern europeans and one particular african country. Welfare will be cut in the next budget. Another consequence of mass immigration. Another loss for the Irish worker.

No, four of us pooled our money together to purchase the bar at a very good price. It is more of a hobby than anything else. I only go over every second month. You are more than welcome to visit it if you are ever in Benalmadena. Two of the other owners are Spanish. It is an Irish bar in name only.

As I said it is a hobby not a business investment. You would want to be mad to invest in Spain. I created jobs for locals in Spain and pay them well above other bars in the area. I am not in it for profit. Myself and my cousin went in on it with two Spanish friends who run the bar for 365 days a year.

I plough profits back into the bar as it is my pride and joy. Eventually I will buy a couple of bars in Dublin. This is a learning curve for me, my apprenticeship, if you will.

I do not know how you can compare this to Polish shops in Ireland, its absurd.

I pay them two euro more than other bars in the area. They are allowed a few beves after work if they so wish, sweat beers. Meals are also provided for those working over four hours. They can order from the menu once they do not take the ****. Hardly exploitation is it.

Ireland for all? Cop the fook on. We cannot absorb the world. We need the unemployed eastern euros to go home. One TD suggested paying them to return to their own nations. But we would they? Polands foooked too.

Socialist Spain and Germany do the same both countries have paid foreigners to come home once they understand that they cannot come back for up to five years. You are not permanent residents in my nation, you are guest workers. No work, go home.

They should go home to their own nations to get married. To be honest, there is nothing worse than somebody getting married or giving birth just to stay in a country.

People who do this are the lowest of the low.

What has a poster from over 100 years ago got to do with present immigration controls? Look you nut, Polish immigration into Ireland is the equivalent of 1,600,000 Irish moving into Poland over a three year period. Its pure madness. We made an error by allowing them free access to our workforce. Time to rectify that error.

Here is what I propose, revoke the free movement of labour for the accession states and issue a work permit scheme, those who are in present employement are exempt, those who are on the dole given one months welfare payments and a one way ticket home. Anybody who wishes to move to Ireland from the accession states must apply for a work permit.

If nobody in Ireland or the "old" european states(the other 14), then and only then, can an employer search for applicants in eastern europe.

Grzegorz_

I have posted links more times than I care to remember.

So, you reckon over 300,000 Poles went home? I find that very hard to believe. Theres 90,000 in Dublin easily, they are everywhere.

Time to put a stop to this free for all.

80 million claim Irish ancestry. So what? That does not mean they are Irish. Ever hear the term Plastic Paddies? How many Irish citizens are living abroad?

There are millions of Poles abroad, much more so than Irish.

My links are from respected sources. All Irish broadsheets.

A plantation- An original settlement in a new country; a colony.

Thats what we have here, a Polish plantation in Ireland.

You are all paddies with Polish girlfriends, therefore biased , without mass immigration you lot would be still single.

Id rather the plastic paddies here instead of the Poles. At least the plastics have a bit of Irish blood in them and some interest in the country. The Poles view us as an ATM.

I wouldnt touch one with yours. Czech, Irish, and South American girls leave the Polish ones in the halfpenny place.

I have little to do with Polish invaders. I avoid shops and bars that employ them, I barely speak to them in work unless I have too.

Czechs have class. Good people. They immigrate here in sensible numbers. No problem with that. They are not too fond of Polskis either. Bang on in my opinion.

They integrate.
