If its only a temporary position in Poland, I'd stay in the US with the 7 kids. 7 kids is a lot to handle, and taking them all out of school, and placing in a foreign tongue school would be drama. Do you kids know any polish at all? I'm not sure what school they could attend if they dont, maybe there are special private english schools.

Moving just one person takes a lot of adjustment, but a whole family of 9 is incredible.

Krakow railway is connected to the "Galeria" shopping center, you can clean & free WC. Since its a mall, you have tons of time to shop, sit on a bench & read, cafes, nice selection of places to grab a bite to eat.

You must be kidding me, Pierogi are the most known polish food to Americans... NOT RUSSIANS! They do not describe them as ravioli (italian), they know pierogi, are just that pierogi. They are so popular, they are in nearly every American food store. Many American companies make the frozen varieties.

The reason there arent that many Polish restaurants, is because Americans always think of the "polish buffet" and have negative ideas in their head. Who wants to eat a whole bunch of mixed dishes that have been sitting out for a while, may have been sneezed on or whatever.

The few polish places that actually offer a normal course meal are rather pricey, compared to say what you get at an italian restaurant, a burritto place (more fast food than dinner meal). Poles in the US dont go out and dine often at polish restaurants, cause why? They can make the same thing at home, nothing special.

And contrary to belief, polish food is not that healthy. Every meal has a ton of fat & calories. The serving of potatoes itself would fill up a normal person, then there's the fried meat to help in your saturated fat content.

Trying to get a job, and then mentioning at an interview "by the way, you have to sponsor me to hire me" is usually not acceptable.

The first bank bailout did NOTHING for the economy, they can't even account for where the money went. What will happen with the second stimulus? Same thing, no effect.

The solution is to bring back our jobs home. Let India worry about problems with all US jobs disappearing, let China worry about feeding millions when we take back production.

Call centers for United & Dell have already come back to the US, due to quality issues with India. All they can do effectively is read off a paper.

If you have never had a passport, never traveled anywhere, then you are in for a suprise my friend. You are taking off to possibly live forever in Poland? In a country whose language you do not speak, customs you dont know, and you just ready to live there forever? Odd.

Get a US passport, you can file at any post office for one. Go for the 90 day max to Poland. Don't overstay, its not recommended.

You will not get a Polish passport, since you are not a Polish citizen.

Have you mentioned this same train of thought to the lady you are going to visit? If you are so behind in times, I wonder if she is as well.

Polish people don't have medical insurance because if they are illegally in the US, they dont have a SS#, and hence cant purchase one without it. They work under the table on most jobs, and those jobs don't offer insurance.

I'm surprised about this post, because if you live in the US and watch or read any type of media, you'd see how often the topic of "americans with no insurance" is mentioned. Its a country wide problem, not just Poles.

Polish drivers are crazy. They always think they are driving an ambulance... like its an emergency to get where they are going.

In the US we have fender benders, in Poland its usually totalled cars & fatalities.

Polish illegals are staying because they dont care to become legal! They think of it as a part of their life, to make tons of cash and head home. Its when the time spent here gets longer & longer and then they forget about the plan to return home, because life here is good.

In many polish communities, Poles can get by without any documentation, without knowing the language. One illegal gives another illegal ideas on how to outsmart the system and keep on going. Its just the way it has been for decades.

The reason EmmaL had issues with USCIS is because she didn't follow immigration policy. If you are intending for your husband (or then fiance) to stay in the US and marry, he should have come on a family based visa (fiance visa). If he came under a tourist visa, he escaped a whole bunch of paper work for the fiance/family visa, the US was out a chunk of cash. It also showed he came as a tourist with immigration intent. You had a hard time proving it wasnt a cash for GC marriage because the way he came showed fraud.

If you have been working in Poland for a couple years and are "zameldowany", you can file for a CR1 visa for your wife. It takes about 1 year for processing in the US/Poland. She'll do her medical exam in Poland with interview. Once they grant her the CR1, she'll be able to come the US and a green card shows up in the mail within 30 days of entry.

You can also do a K3 visa for a spouse, its a little quicker, but in the long run its more expensive. K3 visa allows the spouse to come to the US for 2 years (allowing entry & exit throughout 2 yr period), however you must file paperwork for the greencard and work authorization.

None of the family based visa's are quick, USCIS is slow at processing.
