Love / Polish men and marriage. [13]

My Polish byfriend freaks out when I speak about marriage. He says that he wants children with me, but he's very sceptical about marriage. How come he is like that? I think that having children is a more serious matter than getting married....

Well, I don't know that you should worry too much about it. If he isn't sure about getting married but wants children and you are saying having children is more serious than getting married...where is the problem?

Unless he won't have children until he is married? That's where the problem could lie. Is there a large age gap between you?

You're right, you should make sure he is the absolute one for you before marrying again.

Language / Polish desire phrases [12]

You doped your brain away when you are as deep as to ask people how to ask her in that girls tongue, the tongue which is used to blow your friends cock each night, to leave that friend of yours to be rather with you instead. You are all a lost cause in this forum people - or you are older, or you are like me intetrested in human relations and just watching laughinf and chronologing.

MY advice: get a rucksack and a sleepbag and climp some buig mountain - leave your house and get some input you ...

Come back and re-type that when you're sober.

Stum: Say it in English. It's an important thing you want to tell her and waffling away in broken and bad Polish won't help at all.

UK, Ireland / Benefits for separated Polish wife and 2 kids in the UK [90]

What can you do BUT whine? I know a scouser. He's on disability benefits yet he works part time at a pub and get's pi*sed EVERYNIGHT.

If he bothers you that much, report him. It's all anonymous and if he's drinking in a pub it could be anyone that has reported him. Google "benefit cheats" and you'll get all the info about reporting him. The government is serious about these people and they do make an effort to catch them. If all the people who moaned about benefit cheats reported one person...well what a difference it would make.

No, people are afraid of being labelled a "grass" so they won't do it...even anonymously.

The country is going to rack and ruin and you want everyone to stand and watch.

Actually, if you read his post, that's not what he wants. He's pointing out that one individual doesn't account for a larger problem. Why pick on one person, one female who is trying to work out what is best for her and her kids? I suggested she go back to Poland because I thought it would be better for her, not because I thought it would be better for Britain.

I agree with Danny. If you find the whole thing such a problem, stop whining here and do something proper (and legal) about it. Ridiculing one female and her attempts to look after her family might make some of you feel big and clever but it achieves absolutey nothing.

I can't stand British people that exploit the benefit's system either.

Neither can I. So what do you do about that? Do you whine at your friends down the pub...or do you actively do something?

and people who pitch up here without work and without a means to support themselves, kids in tow, and then wants to know what they're "entitled to" are freeloaders

What if they did arrive here with a means to support themselves but it all went wrong?

Because this thread is a pisstake out of British tax payers. The purpose of this thread is to find information from us British for her friend to sponge money from British workers

Which is something that concerns you greatly so that's why I didn't understand why you wanted it deleted.

THIS THREAD SHOULD HAVE BEEN LOCKED AND DELETED AGES AGO. THIS IS A PISSTAKE OUT OF THE BRITISH TAXPAYER.

Why? It's a serious subject so why should it be hidden?

Natasia, I do agree your friend doesn't have much of a future in the UK in her current situation. She probably should return to Poland and carry on with her life there, where she can be near family no doubt.

Really, what is there for her here? Juggling two kids, a low paid job (probably more than one) and paying rent, bills and probably child care etc, it's just not going to work. Returning to Poland is her only option. She won't get much benefit help here and even if she did, it's not going to help her in the long run.

Love / In your opinion, are most Polish women 'Easy'? [243]

i seen nothing racist in that post.

I agree, there is nothing racist in it. It's a practical question, perhaps poorly worded, posted by someone who has observed the behaviour of people around him.

Bogi, I think you're just looking for an argument and you haven't really read this thread properly at all.

Love / polish girl - should I keep in touch with her? [7]

Well, it depends what you want from it. If you're happy just to be friends with her then of course pursue it but if you want more and that's not possible, you should just leave it.

Life / First Racial Attack for me in Poland [158]

It really can happen anywhere Griff. I have been told in recent weeks to ****-off back home by a guy on a bus. He'd been offering me a seat but I didn't realise he was talking to me so I didn't answer. So the next thing he's barged past me and said 'why don't you ****-off back home'. This is strange because I was born here and it is my home...I suppose sometimes people also judge on appearance only and people think I look very Polish.

Food / What is this? Dark whisky Scottish or Polish? [58]

by buying in "scottish" whisky, then maturing it in poland, they are able to lable the bottles as Scotch. in their country only. now we get into difficult patent laws. By law Scotch can only be made in Scotland. But this factory is importing scottish whisky.

So they still can't call it Scotch because it MUST be matured in Scotland for it to have such a name. They can, of course, import it AFTER it has matured in Scotland it can still legally be called Scotch.

Even if the recipe was sold?

Still has to adhere to the legislation in order to be called Scotch. That's how I understand it anyway.

Scottish

Scotch, there's a difference. And I would try calling someone from Scotland "Scotch"... ;)

I understand what you're saying there. Anyone can make whisky but they can't call it "Scotch" whisky unless if adheres to the legislation which can be found here. There is another good website here. Dark Whisky is a fake.

Do you talk about alcoholic proof? or true proof?

Alcoholic proof.

In Krakow, the most popular whisky is.... mr walker..

Imported most likely.

hang on a minute, what happens to produce that i made in the UK and then exported, that sits in other countries. For example if cheese is made in the UK and then exported what do they put on the label, English mature cheddar matured in England/Poland, lol??? Come on if its made in Scotland then its Scottish?? no??

Well, does that make of cheese have it's own legislation? Scotch does and in order for it to be legally called Scotch it must be made in a certain way, as I have described above. If you doubt me, look it up.

made in Scotland, but matured in Poland.

Then it can't be called a Scotch. It must be distilled in a Scottish distillery and matured in Scotland for it to be called a Scotch. If it's matured elsewhere, it's not Scotch.

What is the proof on the label? Above or below 40%?

well actually dear i did :)

Yes, it's a pity sarcasm doesn't come across so well in type! ;)

lol, Misty, laws are you serious, what does the law control properly now a days when it comes to produce??? Everything you can buy that is authentic you can buy a knock off price copy.

You don't say. That's what we're trying to establish here, is it real or fake? If it wasn't distilled in Scotland and matured for at least 3 years and 1 day, it's not real Scotch and shouldn't carry the label.

I think it might be the importer's address (it should say "imported by") because it can only be called "Scotch" if it's distilled in a Scottish distillery and it must be matured in Scotland.

But

I have just read that this legislation regarding Scotch was to be reviewed in the spring of 2008 which has obviously passed. So it may be that there are different laws. I hope not.

UK, Ireland / Polish Pubs in Scotland. [22]

OK, I apologise for snapping... :)

The main focus of a Polish pub would be, obviously, Poland and that would be reflected in the decor, the beers and drinks served, the entertainment, the food etc. English pubs have their own, unique charm.

theres a few in Glasgow

Do you know the names of any? :)

UK, Ireland / Polish Pubs in Scotland. [22]

A thread I read today about POSK in London made me think about this. I've searched a little bit on the Internet but not much comes up. The question is, does anyone know of Polish pubs in Scotland, particularly Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen?

I think I know of one in Edinburgh which is run by a Polish lady and her Irish boyfriend but I don't remember the name.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

Love / "All because the lady loves a foreign accent..." [19]

Of course that accent is appealing to some women.

I def. would go for the accent! But it all depends on what they have to say....

Though you went for the accent in the first place and the question is...why? :)

Love / "All because the lady loves a foreign accent..." [19]

Mills&Boon/Harlequin celebrate 100 years this year and attributes a great deal of its success to books based on female romances with foreign men.

You can read the article about that right here.
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7516672.stm

So the question is, why are foreign accents so appealing to women? Is it because they are different from the accents we hear daily? Do they promise something more, something exotic?

Think of your favourite accent.

Two guys approach you in a bar, both great looking. Guy 1 has a local accent and Guy 2 has that accent that you adore...who would most attract you?

News / What if Russia decide to liberate Scottland from England? Polish position [152]

The Argentinians surrendered as soon as they heard that the Ghurkas were being deployed.

They most certainly did not surrender at that point. If that was the case then why did the Gurkhas ever land on the Falklands? The Argentinians battled on.

Read this - naval-history.net/F59william.htm
for a small example.

UK, Ireland / Polish is suing because she cannot speak english!!! [45]

They shouldn't be paying by the room anyway. Every room is different, maybe different sizes or different states (depending who stayed there). Seems she's working for a dodgy company and she should take them.

However, never sign a contract unless you've read and understood it and if you don't understand it, don't sign until you've gone over it with someone who understands it and whom you trust!
