Just get over it Polish food is not good. Compare it to Hispanic Thai Indian French Malaysian Italian English Chinese Japanease and almost any other country and can you really tell me that there is anything good about Polish food.

Polish food is a way of life, this guy probably eats bugs!!

News / American Interests in Poland [6]

well, I was looking at the easy side of it, mine were found the day I requested.
but i had town names , excact spellings, and birth dates for siblings.

I believe it could come into some long dragged out process. but at the same time
one record had me twistedly happy! I am sure the same would go for many
Polish-Americans/American Poles.

RIght now, where i see Majority of problems is the getting to Poland records.
they get all the info here gathered, but it stops. so of course Planning trips to
Poland are in the making once they establish where they came from or originated.
but , Many cannot take time from work, busy schedules, etc. to make trips and
many have said , I have visited, but didnt get a chance to look for records as they
made the trips with tourist groups and this was not part of the ciriculum.

Ive not had trouble with the records with town names. MY Problems are with early
records from 1700 to abt 1790 or so.
the only other problems is Archives and finding the correct one for the correct
locations.

I dont think I would advertise tracing that far back, we all know it would be
impossible , but there is some to be found. War and a number of things has
made it virtually impossible for some.

but, least a glitter of hope, and something to help out in area of education for
Poland.

reason I say that is, I have come across many possible family members who didnt
know their history, and found it to connect with mine. it was equally rewarding
for us both.

:) just a suggestion. Patrycja

News / American Interests in Poland [6]

What Interests American, Irish, British, etc about poland?
the Culture? the history? Other?

For me its a great deal of things. mostly the history, I am 3rd Generation so
it was unfortunate that I wasnt taught the culture, even though it was very
much a part of our familys life when my Grandmother was alive, when she died
it died along with her.

should have refrased the title to international Interests in Poland.

well you all get the point anyway :)

awww geese at least one post would do :) lol

I know American interest is growing. alot in the history , there are some
difficulties with families connecting with their roots. I seen Promise in this area
but not only with Poland, all over europe. ancestry is growing here, many have
discussed problems with finding their families in Poland, but not so much other
areas.

MY thoughts on this was that Students who are working their way thru college should
take up this task, charge a reasonable fee, and get the information that is needed.
it would not only help these college students, but the person who is looking and
cant make the trip to poland.

but there would have to be a base in each area. because of travel reasons.
man I dont even live there, but I have it all figured out!!

lol.
ps. I would be American base.
anyone care to share thoughts on this? bad Idea?? yes/ no

Ps. off to work. Have great day.

Life / Polish Parents are controlling [58]

Krysia :) Warm Hugs :)

Kochaj serce matki, póki jest przy tobie,
bo za późno będzie wtedy, kiedy będzie w grobie".

Krysia

I know this has a very sentimental meaning, can you translate?

You have to look ahead because we will all die and the pitiful things that we're going through on Earth mean nothing against the vast universe.

this is so true.

I miss her alot, one time, I cried after I heard a song playing on the radio and it
reminded me of her, I couldnt see to drive. so I pulled over and sobbed harder then
when she died at her funeral.

it was like the reality set in, and when she was sick and the doctor said to me
because I was her advocate, to let her go, my selfish side came out and i said, I
only want to hear her voice a little longer. I knew what was right, but couldnt
sign the paper.

there are so many things we are faced with. and we think we are brave and
can do most anything .

but when I was faced with that paper. I became a child again, I was no longer the
rational adult. I was a small child, selfish , wanting my mother.

I am glad you saw a different light.

Ps. give your mom a hug from me too :) all moms need hugs :))

PPS. Now im going to cry myself to sleep.

Life / Polish Parents are controlling [58]

Frank, this is excactly what I was referring to when I spoke of off topics.

out of general discussions of poland comes real life , real people, real feelings.

I like the fact that this forum lets people be who they are, when they need
to say something , someone is there.

Krysia, my mom did the same things, when I lived with her, it gets better.
but now I dont have my mom any more to say anything to me, no arguments, no
hugs, no smiles, no anything.
I lost her in 2002. since then, many things have come up, that I wish I had her hand
to hold, she comforted me in alot of ways, yet we fought under the same roof.

then when I had my own roof to sleep under, she would ask me to come over, and
I didnt come over often enough when she was well for us to spend time.

I dont think she is doing it intentionally, there might be other things bothering her
too, maybe you two should sit and talk, just tell her what she wants to hear, because
I cant tell my mom anymore.

Hugs Patrycja.

Life / What breeds of dogs are now popular in Poland? [40]

now that sounds cute, both really sweet looking dogs...

shelly, he is adorable, plus, on his ears (this attracted me to him) was he has the
cocker spaniel coat, so his ears have a slight bit of hair hanging off them, when I took
him to get him groomed , I told the lady to not cut these off, as they add to his
character.

we bought him from humane society, the really work so well with them. but all the
things he knows now, some we didnt teach, is pretty amazing, he has shown he is
a winner daily.

Life / What breeds of dogs are now popular in Poland? [40]

Poland or less-developed countries dogs eat what they should - more raw meat, natural foods and less junk foods/granules that are making the dog fat and dumb

omg, now were resorting to dog bashing lol.

mine eats granule food, but his food is balanced. soon as I gave him meat he became
sick. raw chicken carries the bird flu- not saying that would happen, but why chance it
ehh?

raw cow has "mad cow disease" again, why chance it?? my dog is utmost important
friend in my world, he dont talk back, and he snuggles with me daily.

yes they can gain weight , but if you excercise them, that is all water under the
bridge.

I have a mutt . he is Part Cocker Spaniel, and Beagle.
he sings with us, he howls at the trains, and he tells me when squirrels are on the
porch (I didnt listen) he ate our pumpkin!

bad momma I was. anway, dogs- Any Breed, I love emm all!!

Life / Are Polish People Racist? [1037]

I thought the Russians caused more havac then they helped . but you learn something
new every day. I was told they raided and killed just like the german army, this came
from one of my Kuzynka's who had to muddy up her face to make herself look un-
Appealing to avoid getting raped. or hide in a cellar under ground till they left.
Well. you know the story, I wrote it in the other forum.

gosh I miss Pani Ania. Another Ania. and Casper :) he was so out there!

Life / Poles need to learn to save! [73]

desperatley need everyones spent paper towels for my time of the month

Nita, the one thing we all should learn as we grow up is common sense.
something you are lacking at the moment which tells your age.

I do hope you stop the childish antics soon, because Karma always finds itself.

if you are older, well, that goes without saying, dont come in here acting like you are
American and pretending you are and playing games.
we all know there is still children trying to get on the intranet, it is unfortunate that
you found your mommys password .

Wierd is taking an invisible dog for a walk, talking to oneself and actually holding
a conversation, and picking out two different color socks that go with the color
of your hair :) lol

I highly doubt you do that.:)

But, just in case you do :) lol I still would have much respect for you because
your posts are rather agreeable. and even when you disagreed in some of mine
your tone is rather cool. <~who said that? lol

At this point, I am not worried about getting one. Let them think we all want to be a
Part of it.

I went into see whats going on. and remember the last post hans said that was
if I didnt have anything to offer debate on poland to not comment.

I looked yesterday and they were posting "what did anyone do this weekend?" now
is that all about poland? "NOT" so yes, I think i will stay here. I am content.

I am Pro Poland that is all there is to it. and I am not against any other place Either.

Frank

you are not wierd, you are rather open. and have some really good points, and
have I said anything to that nature?

I am glad to see your all here :)

Frank you still go there and post, is it the same?
I dont think so, there isnt much going on in there as of late.

they dont seem to make an effort to intergrate and speak our language

Jem, do you speak their language? I am sure most are learning and most do know english
are you making any efforts to intergrate with them? your sure whining about it
enough.:)

So no one who is english says anything bad to any of these polish groups of men
who stand around looking hostile and drinking vast amounts of booze and all the
fighting comes from the Polish?

I highly doubt that one. its amazing how these fights are always one sided.
"smack" "go to your room!
