Love / I'm in love with a nice Polish; she's from another country and religion.. [39]

i followed my heart . its nor been easy-there are still issues-i have not met his family yet-i think this is wise at the moment. because wanting to please the familt can interfer with your relationship-best to develop your relationship first-make sure its a strong bond-then together you can support any negativity the family may cause. i ask your age- because i am 40 and my guy is 30. i got married at your girlfriends age-i had only known my x-husband 1 year-we were in love-i thought-BUT his family eventually came between us-take time to make sure you and your girlfriend will stand together not alone. at her age i felt guilty if i -went against my parents wishes-many times i pleased them more than i should have. in a relationship the two of you are the most important -this is my view

Love / why is the older women such a problem for polish guys [37]

it will always remain a biological instinct of breeding,

no no no no no this is not true-what about people who "fall in love" when "breeding" is impossible- same sex couples, disabilities which cannot accomodate chid-bearing-or couples who choose not to breed

They were paid by males who realised that noble talk about love could help them seduce women faster and more efficiently

or maybe they needed help in expressing their
feelings

Of course I was in love but it was purely hormonic or ferromonic matter.

i take it it didnt last-it can be transient-doesnt mean cant happen again-hormonic,ferromonic, cupidmonic or any monic for that matter

i wish you love. love, love and nothing but love

UK, Ireland / Dialing from uk mobile to a phone in Poland / International number code [12]

i think it depends on you phone the phone you are calling and the network.

if i call my boyfriend in poland on his polish number from my mobile use i +48........in front of his polish number also using 00 instead of + works. When i call his english vodophone number to his sony erricson phone from my tmobile or orange i just use his number as if he was here no code before it-this is also true for when i dail his english number from my land line i dont need to use a code. however he cannot seem to access passport on his english number and according to the vodophone guy i spent 2 hours talking to its because of the network his english number picks up-it can be set but every time he changes his polish-english sim the settings have to be changed-its like russian roulette trying to get a hold of each other and i thought he was avoiding me-lol

so now we are looking at skype phones or two phones on the same contract shared mins for talk time which allows each of us unlimitted free calls to the other. i have posted whether t-mobile or orange would be best for this

Travel / EasyJet suspends flights to Gdansk [9]

Their own website has been in Beta stage for months now and still isn't finished. I also firmly believe that the majority of Brits think Poland is virtually a third world country, that it is located somewhere close to the North Pole and is always cold, and that flight times from the UK are 4 hours +

this is so true-so many of my friends hold this view-they wont entertain visiting the country

Love / why is the older women such a problem for polish guys [37]

I wouldn't worry about it angel. If it's meant to be it will go ahead and you will both be stronger when you are actually together and be able to deal with it. Romantic view I know but life is so short just go for what makes you happy, is my view.

Love is a notion invented by poets hired by males.

tommy so love is subconcious-so you dont know it and you cant control it-so its no notion invented-maybe you have never been in love or you are just too analytical

lady in red i agree with you

love is what makes the world go round-or is it just physics-but we cant do a darn thing about that either coz force is not seen onlt the effects are so does it exixt at all or is it just a notion dreamed up by newton?-but then again newton was crazy

Love / why is the older women such a problem for polish guys [37]

it would appear from the post on here that men seem to judge women on "acceptable" norm sterotypes. forget age for a moment. would love discriminate on the grounds of dissability, creed, colour, finacial staus etc ..my point is you fall in love with a person not a set of expectations-well a real man or woman for that matter ,does

Love / My polish boyfriend and i love one another -- dilema, advice please. [16]

In my opinion making a major location change for someone you haven't lived with for a while is a recipe for disaster. Can it work? Sure...but people are people and most are not that flexible.

i agree with what you say and i think it will be better for both of us if he come here with the job-so a sense of perspective can be maintained. the question is do i go over there and see him and talk face to faceif a job offer isnt fourth coming- the feelings for thiis man are special and i am not goingto give up without a "fight"

i do think his familyare holding him back-he is so happy when he is here

Love / My polish boyfriend and i love one another -- dilema, advice please. [16]

i hope some of you can give me advice on a decision dilema.

my polish boyfriend and i love one another. we have known each other for 1 year. for the last 6 month due to his work we have not been able to be with each other-but have kept in touch by telephone and text. we miss each other very much. it has not been easy accepting beening away from each other but the thought of him coming here "soon" has kept us going. we say sweet romantic things to each other remember how good things are from our memories and look forward to the day when we are together again. it has not been plain sailing and i have sometimes cries with frustration at not seeing him-i miss everything about him and i miss the lack of intimacy-i am not a sex obessed woman but i have a healty apetite. we sometimes talk about this side of things and know we will make up for loss time when we see each other.

however i am beginning to find that the situation is becoming intolerable and i miss him more and more. for the last two months he has been waiting for a call for work and he has said if they dont call soon he may come over here independently to be with me.

The problem is that when i ask how long he is going to wait and what time span does he refer to when he says soon-he cant seem to tell me. i have become upset and have suggested on some occasions that maybe we should call it a day because we cant be together-he insists that he wants us to continue and so do i so for a few days i am hopeful again-but then i am back to the longing. i keep myself busy and he is helping his freind build a house-but nothing takes away the longing to be with him.

he lives at home with his parents and is a private person and his family in poland are not to happy with him working in england-so it is easier for them to accept a job offer in england than his own decision to come to england.

he wants to be able to come and go between england and poland when he wishes and this will be possible. i have told him i understand and i have been patient-but i now find i am suffering and my needs are being neglected.

the question is how much longer do i wait? the relationship is stagnating-i love him dearly and i want this to continue and from what he says he wants the same. but nothing is happening. i have expressed all these concerns to him and sometimes he goes quiet for a few day and then its ok.

i know something needs to change.

i dont want to put too much pressure on him put i dont want him to think that waiting indefinitely is ok.

i was thinking of suggesting to him that we will give it one more month till the end of march and if he has no job offer for here one of two things happen

1. he comes here
2. i go there
please any advice? thank-you

Life / Why is Poland so slow; it takes a lot of time to arrange anything here [53]

i think in poland maybe tomorrow never comes. its like the word soon-niedlugo. now soon to me in england means within a few weeks maybe a month or two. but in poland i think niedlugo means -it will happen eventually-no particular time limit -but eventually-so you wait and wait-so frustrating

Love / Polish attitudes to pregnacy outside marriage [7]

my Polish friends 18 year old sister is pregnant -she has a boyfriend-she lives at home with parents and many brothers and sisters.

i thought it would be a bad situation but my friend said it was no problem for her parents and everyone was happy-that 18 was an ok age for pregnancy.

i find this difficult to understand as i thought catholic values were important and also-this girl hopes to go to university maybe in England

Life / What do Polish people usually do on Sunday? [40]

Thread attached on merging:
what is sunday like for the typical polish family

when i was little sundays were family days-lunch- visiting relatives-no work-going to church.

its different now here in england-with shops open-shift work etc

i am curious to know what sundays are like for families in poland-is it still tradional for most-are shops open?
