Family name Benka.

Hello folks. I am new to this forum, and I am looking for the family Benka in Zblewo or Dębogóra in the Kościerski, Pomorze area from 1910 ~ 1940. Can anybody help or advise on how I can find out? Thanks, Ricki.

Hello Wroclaw. I am in contact with my Cousins from my Dads Sister, But I cannot find out about my Dads older Brother. I am trying to trace my Fathers side of the family tree. I have done my Mother's which was mainly sourced through Scotlandspeople website. I keep hitting dead ends (no joke meant) when I try to find details about my father or grandparents. Any advice would be most welcome.

To be honest I don't know how to find him.

But. He may still be alive and in the phone book.. He may have had children who carried on the family name..

It is possible to search the phone book, but you need an address.
The easiest way to find people with the same name is to search: nasza klasa

I would find a town or city website (for the town in Poland or nearest big town) with a forum and leave a message. Some Polish city websites also have genealogy help. And more important... pages in English

There is a link somewhere on here for old polish directories. They might help with an old address.

Do I understand correctly. Your dad's sister has no info on you dad's brother (her brother) Or is your dad's sister now deceased.

Yes he is my Uncle. He fled from Zblewo with my Dad in 1939, but nobody knows where he went to. My Aunt died a few years ago and I am in touch with my Cousins, but knowledge of the family tree/history is limited or is lost in translation.

I know my biological Grandfather remarried and there are Stepchildren , but where and how many I don't know.

I was hoping to find birth details of my Dad so I can back track the lineage from there. Hopefully I'll have some more info' by the time you're back online. :0)
