How to contact someone....from 1966!!!!!

Hi all, again. This forum is addictive!

Question: How do I go about contacting, or finding out if there is someone to contact from a letter written in 1966. I just recently got it translated. The return address: Person's name

L(Z)avy K/ K(Z)aganio(a)
ul: (interpreter said this was street number
woj: (int. said this was county) L(Z)ielona Gora
Poland
Where is L(Z)ielona Gora???? Any words with () means the interpreter wasn't sure of the spelling due to the handwriting.

1966 is a LONG time ago...any suggestions??????

The 2nd part is probably k. Żagania which means near Żagań

Rather not, Żary are too big... "k." thingy is used in case of small villages.

What do you mean by that? What's a Zary?
Would such a place have a phone directory?

And welcome to the Polish Forum.

If you click on the "URL" in RJ_cdn's post, the third post above this one, you will see that "Żary" is a place and Grzegorz_ is saying that when you use the letter "K" in a Polish address, it means that the place is a small village and he thinks that "Żary" is too big to have a "k". (If I am not mistaken).

But you are talking about 1966, so perhaps it was smaller then, I do not know.
